Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy applies to all services provided by Ink & Initial Notary Co.
1) Rescheduling
24+ hours’ notice: No fee; we’ll gladly reschedule your appointment.
Less than 24 hours’ notice: A $25 late-change fee may apply.
2) Cancellations & Deposits
24+ hours’ notice: Deposits are fully refundable.
Less than 24 hours’ notice / no-show: Deposits are non-refundable. A $35 call-out/no-show fee may also apply if travel has begun.
Refunds: Refunds are issued minus any non-recoverable costs (e.g., platform fees, document prep, witness arrangements).
3) No-Shows & Not Ready
Appointments may be canceled (with applicable fees) if:
You are more than 15 minutes late
Required ID is missing or invalid
Documents are already signed before the appointment (when not permitted)
The signer is absent, unwilling, or not competent
4) Apostille Services
A $100 deposit is collected at booking and applied to your total fee.
Deposits are refundable if canceled ≥24 hours before the appointment.
Deposits are non-refundable if canceled <24 hours before or after processing has begun.
Once documents are mailed, couriered, or hand-delivered to the NC Secretary of State, related fees are non-refundable.
Timelines are estimates only; we are not responsible for shipping or government delays.
5) Estate Planning Services
A $75 deposit is collected at booking and applied to your total fee.
Deposits are refundable if canceled ≥24 hours before the appointment.
Deposits are non-refundable if canceled <24 hours before or once preparation/witness coordination has begun.
6) Mobile & Specialty Services
Mobile notary, estate plan signings, and I-9 verifications may include travel or preparation fees.
Travel/mileage fees are non-refundable once travel has begun.
7) Rush & After-Hours Requests
Appointments outside regular business hours may include a $50 rush/after-hours fee.
Once accepted, this fee is non-refundable regardless of cancellation timing.
If an after-hours appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the deposit and the rush/after-hours fee are non-refundable.
If travel has already begun, travel/mileage fees are also non-refundable.
8) Weather & Safety
Appointments may be rescheduled or canceled due to severe weather or safety concerns. Fees will be waived or adjusted reasonably.
9) Refund Method & Timing
Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days (processor dependent).
